NAKED SHOOTING CASE
A FORMER Georgia police officer has been given 12 years in prison after shooting dead an unarmed, naked black man.
Robert “Chip” Olsen was responding to a call of a naked man behaving erratically outside an Atlanta-area apartment complex in March 2015 when he fatally shot 26-yearold Anthony Hill, an Air Force veteran who had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD.
But Olsen was acquitted of murder, which would have carried a much longer sentence. His trial was carried out against a backdrop of white officers around the country frequently not being charged or convicted after shooting black men.
