Drug boss in court fight

A FOR­MER Venezue­lan spy­mas­ter ac­cused of at­tempt­ing to “flood” the US with drugs is one step closer to be­ing ex­tra­dited from Spain.

Venezue­lan Pres­i­dent Hugo Chavez, is now in the hands of an in­terim Span­ish govern­ment. The fi­nal ap­proval, if it comes, would hap­pen af­ter the coun­try’s elec­tion on Sun­day.

That fol­lows yes­ter­day’s de­ci­sion by judges to re­verse an ear­lier rul­ing that threw out the US ar­rest war­rant for be­ing po­lit­i­cally mo­ti­vated.
