JOANNE PUCKERIDGE. 44, AND IRA SMITH, 43
Dress 50s-style A-line satin tea-length dress with lace over the skirt bought online from Ali Baba Honeymoon Koh Samui, Thailand, for 11 days
JOANNE and Ira were introduced by Ira’s cousin in 2003 and six years ago moved in together, bonded by a shared love of camping and 4x4 driving. Joanna says she was in love with Ira’s dog Jess even before she realised she loved him. In October 2015, Ira surprised Joanne by going down on one knee while strolling beside the Nepean River after they had been out for a romantic dinner. He sealed the deal with a stunning white gold ring with diamonds set in a heart shape. They tied the knot on September 14, 2019, with a rusticthemed ceremony and reception at Hawkesbury Function Centre, sharing the day with 96 friends and family from all over Australia.
A highlight of the day was seeing how lovely their bridal party looked. Married life began with a bridal waltz to Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, while guests danced the night away to music by DJ Johnny Bones.
