A show­down be­tween Church and State to force priests to break the seal of con­fes­sion to re­port child sex of­fences seems a good idea.

Let’s now take the is­sue slightly fur­ther and en­sure that lawyers dis­close whether their clients are

guilty of the crimes they have com­mit­ted.
