Dockers are in holiday mode

The Sunday Times - - Confidential -

WHILE their cross-town rivals at West Coast are still deep in September footy action, Fremantle Dockers players are officially in holiday mode.

Before strutting his stuff down the catwalk at the Perth International Fashion Festival this week, captain Nat

Fyfe was surfing it up in Sri Lanka, posting shirtless photos next to a slick looking tuk-tuk which he labelled his “new whip”.

Meanwhile, a group of his teammates — including Alex Pearce,

Griffin Logue, Matt Taberner and Tommy Sheridan — have been blazing a trail through western Europe, taking in the sights of Spain, France and Croatia. Their exploits, documented on social media, have included living it up on the Spanish party island of Ibiza and resort city of San Sebastian, playing golf, and Logue sporting a pair of budgie smugglers on the beach in the French seaside town of Biarritz.

Fellow Dockers Joel Hamling, Luke Ryan, Shane Kersten, Sean Darcy and Brennan Cox looked relaxed together at Ku De Ta restaurant in Bali, while Brandon Matera was excited to be in

Singapore.

But not all Freo players are playing the tourist abroad, with others stuck at home. Hayden Ballantyne posted a photo at Bunnings with his kids, David

Mundy was doing the school drop-offs while Lachie Neale, rumoured to be leaving the Dockers for Brisbane, was in the community spirit, playing kick-to-kick with a young Dockers fan.

Siblings Stephen and Bradley Hill have been busy on the business front readying for the launch of Perth’s third KX Pilates Studio in Fremantle yesterday. Bradley’s partner Samantha

Dobbs is a qualified Pilates instructor and will handle the day-to-day running of the studio.

Bradley was introduced to the fitness fad shortly after arriving at Hawthorn back in 2012. “When I was in Melbourne I had to do it once a week,” he said. “There were a few boys that had to do it to get a bit stronger through our cores.”

Back to Fyfe. Confidential had a chuckle over his awkward exchange with local export Nicole Trunfio at the Fashion Festival press conference, when the US-based international model asked the Brownlow winner if he played for the Eagles.

The Docker explained: “So West Coast are still playing (in finals) — we’re not. So that’s why I’m here with you and not out there training.”

The pair shared plenty of laughs as they gradually got to know one another ahead of strutting their stuff on the catwalk for the last night of the festival.

Top down: Brothers Bradley and Stephen Hill at KX Pilates Studios with Brad’s partner and instructor Samantha Dobbs. Griffin Logue, Tommy Sheridan and Matt Taberner playing golf. Tommy Sheridan in Barcelona, Spain. Griffin Logue in Biarritz, France. Nat Fyfe in Sri Lanka, left.
