Mum held over death
A DIANELLA mother, who is accused of murdering her elderly grandmother almost seven years ago, sobbed uncontrollably in court yesterday.
Alaine Dawn Sturniolo, 36, exclaimed “I can’t miss my baby’s birthday” when she learnt she would be remanded in custody.
She looked dazed, distressed and was holding a sick bag when she appeared in the dock after being charged on Friday.
Ms Sturniolo allegedly murdered her 91-year-old grandmother May Dawn Gladstone Baldwin between January 2 and 16, 2012, at Wembley Downs. Mrs Baldwin died at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital on January 16, 2012.
Ms Sturniolo’s family declined to comment.
