Bank heist turns fatal
TWELVE people, six of them hostages, have been killed in an early morning shootout between police and bank robbers in a small town in Brazil.
Five of the slain hostages were members of the same family and two were children. Police said that they had three people in custody.
The events began after midnight with the failures of the gang’s assaults on two different ATM machines. With police in pursuit, the criminals hijacked a truck and took hostages.
The criminals executed the hostages before the shootout.
