The Sunday Times - - YOUR SAY WA - BRETT GERRITY Yokine

We continue to hear small business pleading with consumers to shop local.

This is not always possible because of the exorbitant prices charged.

This shows up at sales times, with a sign I saw offering up to 90 per cent off.

So, does that mean for the rest of the year those particular items are so overpriced? Many years ago I worked at a hardware store. One thing the owner told me was that he was permitted to mark up products 300 per cent. Shop local?
