Perhaps you’ve noticed the new face around town — Di Hutchins has joined the team at Challenge Taxation and Accounting.

Having spent most of her working career in the equine industry Ms Hutchins decided it was time for a change of direction and decided to go back to school.

Ms Hutchins recently graduated from La Trobe University in Shepparton with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree, which has led to her taking up a position with Challenge Taxation and Accounting in Tatura.

While glad her degree is finished, Ms Hutchins has decided to continue studying. She will begin studies for a CPA qualification next year, which she admits will be her next challenge.

‘‘I have had an interesting working career before this 360 degree turnaround,’’ she said.

Ms Hutchins worked at GV Equine Hospital for almost seven years, owned her own business (women’s clothing) in Shepparton for six years, worked for Nature Vet, an equine manufacturer of pharmaceutical products, where she travelled constantly as national account manager to the major equine veterinarians in the country.

She also managed Shepparton Harness Racing Club for three years.

Ms Hutchins said she was lucky to find the position at Challenge Taxation, because the one thing she has enjoyed over the years is working with figures and meeting people.

‘‘Challenge Taxation fits the bill and I have settled in well under the guidance of Rex and Aaron (proprietors),’’ she said.

‘‘They are a great group of people and I am really looking forward to working with the team.’’
