Tatura Indoor Bias Bowls’ Club Championships have been concluded in the Ladies’ Championship with Freda Clement winning on the final end over Sherril Hoppner and Evert Worm accounting for John Crilly in the Men’s final.
The Clement and Hoppner Ladies Championship final came to a particularly exciting conclusion with Hoppner holding the game until Clement scored two shots with the final bowl of the match to snatch victory by a solitary shot.
In the Men’s final Crilly was leadingWorm12 to 9 on the 10th end but was overpowered in the final six ends to lose 16 shots to 13.
Freda Clement in winning her fourth club championship also has reason to celebrate her skipping role in winning the Goulburn Valley 4’s Ladies Championship along with other GV bowlers Elsie Gale, Jean Taylor and Chris O’Halloran.
Evert Worm with his 2015 championship win has now won four championships consecutively with a total of five in the past six years.
Clement and Worm will now represent the club when they play off against other club champions from surrounding towns.
