Hats on to raise awareness
The spring racing carnival is upon us, and the Rotary Club of Tatura is once again getting into the swing of things by hosting its annual hat night.
‘‘Lifting the Lid on Mental Illness’’ will be held on Saturday, November 3, at the Tatura Italian Club.
The Rotary Club of Tatura incoming president Bill Purcell said the night would be full of entertainment with a racing theme.
‘‘Those that attended last year were not disappointed and $800 was raised for mental health,’’ Mr Purcell said.
He wanted to remind patrons to book their table in advance and come along wearing their finest (funniest) hats.
‘‘Funds raised during the evening go towards Australian Rotary health,’’ Mr Purcell said.
Cost is $25 a head, including a two-course meal.
Keen: Rotary Club of Tatura members Jo Burgess, Bill Purcell and Carol Neave get excited for the annual hat night to lift the lid on mental illness.
