RIP Beryl

On Sunday, November 4, we lost a very important member of our group in ‘‘the purple lady’’ Beryl Rollinson.

To call Beryl a lady is the only way to describe her.

The funeral was well attended and an excellent service was conducted.

Beryl will always be one of us.

Hilda Watson celebrates her birthday on November 21 and Jean Read on November 28.

Drought-relief concert

On Thursday, November 15, at the clubrooms we had a fundraiser concert for farmers’ drought relief, featuring Greg Dudley. It was an excellent afternoon. He was assisted by Kaye Butler, Allan Richardson and Paul Zito on guitar.

The hamper raffle donated by Shirley Harmes was won by Betty Sharp, while the bottle of wine donated by Allison Lower was won by Shirley Harmes.

Our president Veronica Dowell opened the function with a poem, which was well received.

A considerable amount was raised from the 40 who attended and all had a great afternoon.

Thanks to those who attended.
