It was a lovely day for golf on Wednes­day to start the sum­mer sea­son, which drew a good field of play­ers.

The day’s com­pe­ti­tion was the last Monthly Medal for the year.

A-grade was a hard-fought com­pe­ti­tion, with Robyn Downs fin­ish­ing on 70 nett, to come out on top.

Robyn now shares De­cem­ber’s medal hon­our with her hus­band Michael who won the men’s event last Satur­day.

Thanks to Drum­mond Golf and New­ton’s Par­cel Ser­vice for their fan­tas­tic spon­sor­ship of the day.

Terri Wange­man was run­ner-up on a count-back from Bev Roberts with 71 nett.

Wilma Saun­ders also had a day out with 70 nett to win B-grade.

Run­ner-up was Fran­cie Mark with 77 nett.

Balls down the line went to Bev Roberts, Colleen Johns, Deb Reilly (75) and Jan Coe 77 on a count­back.

The nine-hole com­pe­ti­tion was won by Pat Serra on her first game back with nett 36 and run­ner-up was He­len Wil­liams with nett 37.

Near­est-the-pin on the third for the Gallery Cafe´ voucher was won by Liz Mulc­ahy.

Near­est-the-pin on the sixth for the Tatura Hot Bread voucher was Lois Rogers; and on the ninth for the Cafe´ Alofa voucher was Bev Roberts.

Di Day took the One4One break­fast voucher for near­est-the-pin on the 14th.

The draw for the Sum­mer FourBall knock­out has been posted on the no­tice board.

First round is to be played by De­cem­ber 23.

Sum­mer 4BBB Pen­nant: Con­grat­u­la­tions to Shep­par­ton Golf Club which de­feated Tocumwal 2 in the South ver­sus North fi­nal played at Rich River last Mon­day.

Wednes­day’s event: De­cem­ber is Cap­tain’s choice, Par 3 Stroke, 8.30 am for 9 am hit-off.

Fol­low­ing play, all past and present play­ers are wel­come to en­joy Christ­mas lunch from the bistro at a cost of $25/head. It will be a Christ­mas fun day. Time to get dressed in your Chrissy best, and dec­o­rate your carts and bug­gies in red, white and green.

Christ­mas cel­e­bra­tions will also in­clude a visit from Santa and his elf so please bring a Kris Kringle present to the value of $10 to put in Santa’s sack.
