The recent men’s autumnwinter fashion shows in Europe have clearly demonstrated that chaps have embraced embellishment. And what better way to interpret this for Australia than to embrace the palm tree print.

Never one to shy away from a little print controversy, I recently acquired for my everexpanding Nike collection a new addition to the Air Pegasus family with a tropical palm design. There is something about wearing an all-black ensemble with an overtly decorative trainer that somehow tilts the world on a different axis and adds a little extra cerebral bounce to your day. In this same vein, Havaiana has also released an enigmatic Night Palm print, the design lurking under your foot so there are just flashes as you flip-flop over the sand.

As for garments, Country Road has a terrific subtle allover mini print in a shortsleeve shirt that says “I am not giving up summer at any cost”. Take that, office!
