A touch of Monte Carlo ... on Noosa Waters. Singapore’s heritage beauties.
Giuseppe Di Fede lived for three decades in the opulent surrounds of Monte Carlo, so it’s no wonder his Sunshine Coast home has the odd luxury touch.
The home was designed by local architect Frank Macchia and includes what Di Fede says is his dream come true.
“I am a tennis fan, so to be able to play on my own court in my own home — it is a dream fulfilled,” he says.
Di Fede was general manager of the then-Loews Hotel and Casino in Monte Carlo for 30 years and wanted all the five-star luxuries built into his new five-bedroom home. “I wanted the steam room, the jacuzzi, the home cinema. I might even have overdone it a little, because of my job,” he laughs.
Di Fede and his wife, Trinidad, lived here for 13 years and love the tropical ambience, the light and space.
The home has Macchia’s trademark curved walls, cantilevered rooflines and abundant glass.
It sits on a 2611sq m canal-front block with jetty and boat lifter out the front.
There is a covered entertaining pavilion, a roof terrace and a gas-heated roman pool plus lap pool.
“Having a boat right out the front is a plus, I can jump into my boat and go fishing or around the river,” Di Fede says.
The couple spent many happy years in Noosa Waters but recently opted for a tree-change and moved to the Sunshine Coast hinterland, so it’s time to sell.
