Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes The Art Gallery of NSW opens its doors once again for the 97th iteration of Australia’s most prominent art event, the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes. Traces Gabrielle Courtenay’s collection of works Traces includes richly coloured paintings and sculptures that explore her enduring fascination with the symbology of religion, love, birth, death, creation and renewal. Courtenay works with found materials to create her art. Ritual Intimacy Ritual Intimacy explores the perspective and breadth of Bidjara artist Christian Thompson’s practice, from the fashioning of identity through to his interest in indigenous language as the expression of cultural survival.
