Archibald, Wynne and Sul­man Prizes The Art Gallery of NSW opens its doors once again for the 97th it­er­a­tion of Aus­tralia’s most prom­i­nent art event, the Archibald, Wynne and Sul­man Prizes. The exhibition fea­tures por­traits de­pict­ing the who’s who of Aus­tralia by fi­nal­ists and win­ners of each of the prizes. Art Gallery of NSW, Gallery Drive, Syd­ney. Ad­mis­sion: $8-$20. Traces Gabrielle Courte­nay’s col­lec­tion of works Traces in­cludes richly coloured paint­ings and sculp­tures that ex­plore her en­dur­ing fas­ci­na­tion with the sym­bol­ogy of re­li­gion, love, birth, death, cre­ation and re­newal. Courte­nay works with found ma­te­ri­als to cre­ate her art. Rit­ual In­ti­macy Rit­ual In­ti­macy ex­plores the per­spec­tive and breadth of Bid­jara artist Christian Thomp­son’s prac­tice, from the fash­ion­ing of iden­tity through to his in­ter­est in in­dige­nous lan­guage as the ex­pres­sion of cul­tural sur­vival. Snow White An­gelin Preljo­caj’s Snow White oozes sex, glamour and fan­tasy in a vis­ually rav­ish­ing pro­duc­tion that jux­ta­poses a mon­u­men­tal, golden-hued court with the mys­te­ri­ous vi­bra­tions of the deep for­est.
