Medivac powers

The Weekend Australian - - COMMENTARY -

I understand there are only 10 children left on Nauru with four of them bound for the US with their families leaving six.

The medivac laws are not all about bringing children from Nauru to Australia. These laws would have given doctors the power to evacuate adults to Australia thereby giving illegal immigrants who have been assessed as not refugees or have been deemed to be a security risk, the opportunity of coming to Australia via the medical route thereby undermining offshore processing.

Many people have come to Australia via the medical route suffering very trivial complaints. Angela
