A WRAP ON STYLE

The Weekend Post - Cairns Eye - - Front Page - WORDS:

All I wanted for Christmas was to enjoy bubbles, fashion and racing one final time for the year, and I got my wish at the Everything Automotive Christmas Race Day party at the Cairns Jockey Club.

I had a very important role for the last race day of 2017 and that was to judge fashions on the field. Ladies and gents got right into the Christmas spirit, expressing their love of the silly season through their attire.

One gorgeous lady came dressed as a Christmas present with her gift-printed jumpsuit and green bow fascinator to match. I overheard another racegoer talking about her handcrafted, genuine ostrich feather percher. The pom pom alone took the well-known local milliner eight hours to make. Regular racegoer Tamara Ortiz said she loved the festive atmosphere. “The Christmas races are always so much fun with great fashion and even better people,” she said. “It was a great day, very relaxed and the perfect way to wrap up the racing year.”
