CITY HEIGHTS

The Weekend Post - Cairns Eye - - Front Page - WORDS:

is being taken to new heights, literally. With the construction of the first of seven towers, Nova Light, about to start. It has been a long journey for World Class Global’s sales director, Zak Thaker, which began when he first met the chairman of Aspial Corporation 13 years ago.

Construction began last week and calls for a celebration and the special VIP night was held at the Nova City Display Gallery on Spence St. There you could get a feel for the innovative design, luxury residential apartments, commercial building, retail shops, a hotel, restaurants, cafeterias, health centres, Club Nova with its incredible amenities for residents and its very own tree-lined boulevard. Nova City have even gone so far as to display their two-colour pallet options for the apartments – dark or light.

Member for Cairns Michael Healy shared some very exciting facts and figures about the growth of Cairns. He finished off with: “It is a great time to be in this city because this development is just another indicator of where we are going”. Zak left us all feeling very inspired. “We are not just building a tower, that is easy enough to do,” he said. “We are building a whole new precinct, a new integrated destination, a new city within the city – seven glass towers, the tallest in Cairns – when completed. This will change the cityscape of the city of Cairns forever. It is the largest private development in the history of the Cairns CBD, $550 million in one location.”

If you want to own your own little slice of history in the making, you will have to be quick. More than 50 per cent of the first tower has been sold since its release and 90 per cent of the owners are Australian. I will take one on every level, thanks.
