WESTCO Motors has been named best rural BMW motorcyle dealer in Australia .

BMW Group Australia has announced the Newell St dealership as 2016 BMW Motorrad Australia Rural Dealer of the Year.

It’s back to back awards for the family owned business, which also picked up the gong last year.

Westco BMW was established in 1990 with the addition of BMW bikes in 2001. It operates from a stand alone showroom, service and parts centre at Westcourt.

Dealer-principal Chris King said he was proud to win the award again.

“The continued success of Westco Motors BMW rides on the back of our long standing relationships with a loyal customer base,” he said.

“That coupled with the ultimate in riding machines, a second-to-none lifestyle in the Far North and some of the best places to ride, is a sure-fire formula for success.”

Sales manager David Avery said customers favoured the BMW GS range.

“These models really suit our region and rider’s needs with all-round capability and versatility,” he said.

“The BMW S 1000 range is offering a new and class leading bike in three styles of Track, Touring and Roadster.

“Another popular choice with the Tableland and rangeriding we have in Far North Queensland is the new range of BMW Heritage bikes tackling the cafe-racer scene: R NineT, R NineT Scrambler, R NineT Pure and R NineT Urban.

“These bikes are aimed at the lifestyle market such as Harley Davidson and are gaining sales momentum as the model range expands.

“We expect to release the all new BMW G 310R midyear.

“This is aimed squarely at new riders with its quality and lightweight design and learner approved motorcycle class segment (LAMs).”
