HIA Home of the Year

-

T’S only been six years but Tropical Trend Homes (TTH) has done it again, having been awarded the Housing Industry Association’s 2013 Home of the Year.

This is their second HIA Home of the Year win, bringing their award total to 38.

This year alone TTH has collected 10 awards through the Master Builders Association and the HIA including Display Home of the Year and a state award through the MBA for the same home.

The family business is known for designing and constructing custom-built homes in the northern beaches region.

Alfina Winter says they are very proud of all their awards.

"Each one means so much to us. We are a very hands-on builder and a lot of ourselves goes into our homes, so every award received to date is a validation of our vision, hard work and love of what we do.’’

She said they were ecstatic when their display home won Display Home of the Year and Home of the Year.

You can see Patrick and Alfina’s passion for design and building in their highly awarded display home.

The home features 3.2+-metre ceilings, emperor-size master bedroom, six-metre chef’s kitchen, indoor pool with swim jets – and that’s just inside the home. You can see why it was also awarded Best Outdoor Project when you step through the gate house and are greeted by a river pond, triangle gazebo, sun deck and outdoor pool surrounded by a barramundi pond.

It is no wonder the home at 22 Litara Crt (pictured), Argentea, Palm Cove, was awarded the Home of the Year.

What distinguishes Patrick’s work is the fact that he is as a hands-on builder.

"We don’t employ supervisors. Patrick is a perfectionist and personally ensures all of our homes are built to our high standards," Alfina points out.

"We take pride in being passionate about design as well as construction, and producing only the finest, true custom-built homes.

‘‘We offer a personalised service, building around five homes a year. For us it’s about quality, not quantity," Alfina explains.

"We have 100-per-cent-happy clients.’’

The yearly quota for Tropical Trend Homes will remain unchanged because of their focus on quality not quantity.

"We want to continue to evolve and be known for our style, quality workmanship and design."
