Celebrating the Far North’s best

-

The 2016 Master Builders Far North Queensland Housing & Construction Awards were held on August 13 at the Cairns Convention Centre.

With a huge crowd in attendance, the event celebrated the best the Far North’s building and construction industry has to offer and recognised the region’s most talented and innovative industry professionals.

Master Builders regional manager, Ron Bannah, says this year’s ceremony was another memorable event.

“Over the years, the awards program has just continued to grow and grow,” he says.

“Once again, it was another great night and a great opportunity for members to walk tall amongst their peers.”

“The builders and tradesmen in Far North Queensland have the ability to produce work that is equal to anything you’ll find elsewhere in Australia.”

“We’re on the cusp of some really good things in the region.”

Big winners on the night included Ash Moseley Homes, who were awarded House of the Year for the Marina Quay Project at Trinity Park, and F K Gardner and Sons, who took out Project of the Year for the Tjapukai Cultural Centre Revitalisation.

Allaro Homes took home the President’s Award for its display home at Castleton Entrance, Smithfield, and Roslyn Smith, manager and designer at Affinity Designer Homes, won the Woman in Business Award – an accolade that is awarded each year based on the winner’s achievements, and their involvement and commitment to the industry.

Other notable winners include Rising Star Award recipient David McIntosh of McIntosh Builders, and Robert Daniel Manly from Field Construct, who was named Apprentice of the Year.
