Height of luxury on acreage close to city
KIM Trad’s love affair with Dove Ct started almost 20 years ago, but it took another six years for her dream to be realised.
Mrs Trad and her husband Tim purchased their sprawling “house on the hill” 13 years ago where their children grew up enjoying the acreage Bayview Heights block.
“Mum and I came to an open home at this property in 1997 for a sticky beak,” Mrs Trad said.
“I fell in love with it but couldn’t afford it.
“I always wanted to own this home.
“Years later, in 2003, my husband and I were walking in the neighbourhood as we lived not far away at the time.
“We came past the home and it had a ‘for sale’ sign on it.
“We rang the agent, had an inspection the following day and put in an offer that evening. “Sold – we had our new home.” The couple are now hoping to sell their home for offers above $900,000 to take up a business opportunity elsewhere.
“We’ll miss everything – it is a peaceful and relaxing home,” Mrs Trad admitted.
“We have the memories of raising our children here.”
Real estate agent Grant Stone said the property was the ultimate family home.
“The big selling points are the privacy, elevation and the close proximity to the city,” Mr Stone said.
“Very rarely does a property come on the market that offers the buyer just about everything a family could possibly want, and wish for in a home.”
Renovated between 2010- ’12, the 25-year-old home has views across the city from the four bedrooms and separate study, high ceilings, and was designed to capture the cool breezes.
There is also a pool, landscaped gardens, a garage to fit six cars, separate workshop and solar system to run the house.
