Master-designed home in Beachfront Mirage estate in Port Douglas for sale.
THE parents of renowned Port Douglas architect Charles Wright are selling their masterdesigned trophy home.
Michael and Lynne Wright own lot 28 in the exclusive Beachfront Mirage estate in Port Douglas, which was built by their acclaimed son.
Built in 2008, the house won the FNQ Residential Architecture Award from the Australian Institute of Architects.
The four-bedroom property, – which was listed this week for $4.7 million – was also ranked in the top 150 houses in the world according to the 21st Century Houses publication.
Selling agent Callum Jones said the iconic house had been “admired locally and globally” since its construction.
“Cutting edge design and a no-cost-spared construction has resulted in one of the finest homes you will find anywhere,” Mr Jones said.
“Now, for the first time, the home is being proudly offered for sale. Importantly, this home is automatically approved for foreign purchasers.”
Featuring striking design elements, cathedral ceilings, four bedrooms which open onto tranquil “water gardens” and a swimming pool, polished concrete floors and expansive timber decks – the property blends the tropical outdoors with the indoors.
“From the moment you walk up to the front door you are greeted with a roof line and design unlike any other.
“Natural materials blend together perfectly and on entrance you know you have arrived in a home that is just perfect for the tropics.
“This residence boasts a large amount of space, loads of storage, great airflow, full security and a high level of privacy.”
There is also a nearby walkway for direct beach access.
The luxury pad has more recently been used as a holiday home where it fetches a nightly rent of $1100.
It offers in-house catering, spa treatments, a nanny service and private yoga sessions.
