UNRIVALLED OPULENCE

This luxurious apartment block on Palm Cove’s boutique beachfront precinct offers the very best in resort living for owner-occupiers

A STUNNING rooftop pool directly facing the Coral Sea is a signature feature of the first development for a decade on Palm Cove’s renowned Williams Esplanade, with the sumptuous luxury six-apartment block Shara on target for completion in late 2021.

Belle Property principal Nicholas Slayter said the opulent development was the first to be sold off-plan anywhere in Cairns since the global financial crisis, with four of a total of six apartments sold.

He said Shara – “salt water” in indigenous language – was matchless in that it was a residential beachfront development on an esplanade characterised by one- and twobedroom holiday units.

Located on the corner of Harpa Street towards the northern end of Palm Cove’s boutique beachfront precinct, Shara is in a prestigious enclave and represents the only brand new apartments available to purchase on the Palm Cove Esplanade.

“It is absolute beachfront, designed for owneroccupiers as opposed to holiday apartments, and there are only six units in the development,” Mr Slayter said.

“The rooftop pool is a huge point of difference as often pools are afterthoughts put out the back somewhere.

“Despite the lack of precedent in the market we knew there was a pent-up demand for what Shara had to offer.

“Our buyers, who are local and interstatebased, all recognised the opportunity to buy into a small complex that was designed as residential in nature and was unlikely to be repeated.”

The four apartments already sold off the plan late last year have gone to one local buyer, one

Queensland buyer and two buyers from interstate. Almost half of the ground floor retail space has sold.

The prestigious project engaged Cairns-based architects Circa 2000 for an elegant, wellconsidered, contemporary complex with penthouse-style apartments designed specifically for the discerning owner-occupier.

With just two spacious properties per floor, privacy within the complex is guaranteed.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom residences located on the second floor will be finished to the highest specifications throughout and include lift access.

The attractive contemporary facade of the complex is offset by landscaped gardens to complement the beautiful natural surroundings.

Residences are 134sq m internally with an open-plan living design and a generously-sized balcony to take in famous views of the Coral Sea.

European appliances are among the highquality fixtures and fittings with a two-car garage and basement storage included.

Vievers Pty Ltd is the developer and builder, with director Bob Simkin enjoying a substantial history with Palm Cove.

He previously developed the well-regarded Munbilla, Munbilla Santai and Munbilla Pavilions residences in Buchan’s Point, above Palm Cove.

“The timing just felt right for Shara,” Mr Simkin said.

“Palm Cove used to be thought of as a purely holiday destination, whereas now we see owneroccupiers looking at the esplanade for its wonderful lifestyle.”

The two remaining residences are priced at $1.6m each.
