Committed to providing quality pathology results
PROVIDING comprehensive pathology services to medical practitioners, hospitals, community health services and their collective patients, Sullivan Nicolaides and its Smithfield Collection Centre has been supporting the local medical community for more than 30 years.
The centre’s experienced collector Sue has worked at the Smithfield Collection rooms since the very beginning and has an excellent reputation for children collects and patient care.
Cairns Regional Manager, Shiralee Lubke, has been with Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology for more than 25 years and says the local staff members are committed to providing quality pathology results in the shortest time possible.
“All our collection staff are trained to Certificate 3 level so they know what they are doing, but at Sullivan Nicolaides it’s about more than that – our collectors are friendly, empathetic, patient and kind, and care about the people they serve,” she says.
“Everyone knows how important it is that they do their job well – they know that there is a sick patient relying on them and genuinely take it to heart when things don’t quite go to plan.”
The experienced, well-trained laboratory staff are supported by state-of-the-art technology, and Sullivan Nicolaides ongoing commitment to continuing education means they are always up to date with the latest procedures.
“The latest test we have added to our procedural assessments is the Harmony, which is a non-invasive prenatal test – a new type of pregnancy screening for trisomy disorders such as Down Syndrome, Edwards Syndrome and Patau Syndrome,” says Shiralee.
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology’s Smithfield Collection Centre is located beside Smithfield Medical Practice at Shop 22, Campus Village Shopping Centre, McGregor Rd, Smithfield.
