when the situation comes up. And, when it does come up, they will remember in the back of their heads and they will take the right opportunities.

“We did not really reflect on it. Our first stage was making finals, second stage to make a grand final, then now we are here.”

Dixon, a centre half forward, was selected in the AFL Cairns team of the year in 2015, as well as claiming the club’s best and fairest award, and backed that up with 61 goals this season.

The Fretwell Park-based club are the only side in the Far North to beat the Crocs in 2016, in their first and last meetings, while the Crocs claimed the middle two encounters.

As expected for the minor premiers, Kye Chapple, Peter Bury and Hayden Graham all return to the Crocs side.

Daniel Young, who kicked four goals in the preliminary final win, with Ross McCrae were named in an extended squad and could play reserves.

“They all performed really well but for us it is horses for courses,” Crocs coach Brad Cooper said.

“There is going to be some heartbreak but you cannot have grand final sides without it.

“This is the hardest side I have ever had to pick for a grand final.”

The Cutters have named an unchanged line-up from the one that surprised the Crocs in the semi-final almost a fortnight ago.
