Fencing specialists ready for a big year
ARNEL Fencing Warehouse has been one of Cairns’ most recognisable and trusted brands in fencing for more than two decades.
Founded by Wayne Arnel in 1990, the business has come a long way since its early beginnings.
In 2015, when the business became available for purchase, Innisfail locals Mick McCormick and Sonja Lowe snapped at the opportunity, not only to run their own business, but to fulfil Mick’s long-term goal of moving into the creative side of the building industry.
With more than 20 years experience running a succesful automotive business in Innisfail, Mick and Sonja simply “hit the ground running” upon taking over the business.
“While maintaining the established framework of the Arnel Fencing business, we carried out a complete overhaul of its services, with an aim to improve productivity and workflow, deliver a greater customer experience, as well as offer existing and new clients alike a greater range of fencing products,” Mick says.
From refurbishing the showroom interior and upgrading company software, to implementing systems to allow a greater range of stock holding and ensuring faster turnarounds on quotes and orders – no stone was left unturned. Mick, Sonja and the Arnel team, which includes many employees who have been with the business for years, have worked tirelessly to keep the wheels turning – doing it all with big smiles and a ‘cando’ attitude along the way.
Confidence in the evolution of the brand and the positive direction of the business was reaffirmed when Arnel Fencing was awarded the fencing contract for the recently completed Munro Martin Park refurbishment – something that both Mick and Sonja refer to as their highlight of 2016.
“We’ve got plenty more domestic and commercial work in the pipeline and we look forward to servicing Cairns in 2017.
