Suing over murder case

RELATIVES of a NSW teacher who was raped and murdered by a cleaner in 2015 are suing the State Government.

Stephanie Scott was killed on Easter Sunday in 2015 by Vincent Stanford, who is serving a life sentence.

The NSW Department of Education was not made aware of claims filed in the state’s District Court before proceedings began this week.

“The circumstances resulting in these proceedings are sensitive and all efforts will be made to respond to the claims appropriately,” a department spokesman said.
