HAVE you ever been in a hostile situation or feared that you might find yourself in one? Intense Muay Thai on Spence St is hosting Females Fighting Forward self-defence seminars with Adelaide-based martial artist Carly Gangell on Saturday, June 2, and Sunday, June 3. There are four seminars, at 11am1pm and 2-4pm each day. Intense Muay Thai co-owner and trainer Kiri Bradley has organised the seminars. Born in Cooktown, Kiri is a renowned female fighter in Cairns. She holds the 56kg Australian kickboxing title and has a current record of 21 fights under her belt. She has organised the seminars in a bid to help women grow in confidence and become competent in self defence. The seminars are suitable for all fitness levels and will

equip women with the skills required to defend themselves.

WHAT GEAR: Seminar participan­ts should wear fitness clothing and take a towel.

HOW MUCH: Tickets cost $50 and include a two-hour seminar, a free session at Intense Muay Thai, and morning or afternoon tea.
