Retirees will be the losers

BILL Shorten, if elected, is going to whack all self-funded retirees, which will and does include thousands of Labor Party supporters, retiring bureaucrats and public servants, by taking away part of the annual income that they have based their retirement on.

I’d say that a sizeable number of them aren’t wealthy to the extent that some Labor supporters keep spruiking.

At the moment they don’t rely on taxpayers to fund their retirement.

So, I’m just wondering how much of the so-called billions Shorten reckons he will get from them. Will he have to give back to them in the form of a pension once they fall into the pension category because of the reduction of their income? Barry Braes, Mareeba
