MARLIN Jenna Singleton has challenged her Queensland State Netball League team to build on their perfect record when they face two of the strugglers in their division today.

The Cairns-based club went 3-0 in their first foray into season 2018 and today face Wide Bay Thundercats and Capricorn Claws in Rockhampton, with their collective record 1-5 through six games.

Singleton says the team needs to continue to improve and grow as a group today.

“It will be a challenge to keep building on our results from the first weekend of games,” Singleton said.

“We did a really good job and we are a really strong team that supports each other. It is about building as a team.”

Currently, the Magnetic North Steelcats (five points) sit second on the ladder, one point behind the Marlin Coast Marlins (six points).

Whitsunday Sharks (three points) sit third, followed by Wide Bay Thundercats (two points) and luckless Capricorn Claws (zero points).

Chloe Fredericksen is unavailable for today’s games, with Marlins coach Winnie Whately excited to bring Kirsty Sou into the squad.
