Row over vote date
MALCOLM Turnbull has fired back at Labor for their outrage over the “super Saturday” by-elections date, saying if Bill Shorten wanted an earlier vote his MPs should have resigned sooner.
Opposition MPs yesterday labelled the decision to delay by-elections in Mayo, Braddon, Longman, Perth and Fremantle until the “optimal” date of July 28 “sneaky” and “disgraceful”, given it’s the same day as Labor’s national conference.
Labor announced it will reschedule its national conference following the decision.
