CHANCE FOR AN ARROW ESCAPE
HAVE you been looking for a way to give back to the community? Here’s a fun and healthy outdoors option to consider. The Arrow Experience is a new initiative of the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation, which raises vital funds to support health facilities in the region. The Arrow trails, surrounded by rainforest and providing beautiful views, are much loved by Far Northerners and you’ll feel even better completing them when you’re contributing to a good cause. The Arrow Experience event will be held on Sunday, June 17, but registration is open so participants can start fundraising. Funds will go towards the Cairns Hospital emergency department. There are two course options which cater for different levels of fitness. Both will be fully supported with volunteers and medics.
The event is not a race or a relay. There is an option for those who want a less strenuous track where they can walk and chat with friends. Or, set yourself a challenge and tackle the longer course which incorporates all four Arrow colours. You can register as an individual or create or join a team of up to four people. There are prizes up for grabs for the top fundraisers.
WHAT GEAR: On the day, you’ll
need water, comfortable running shoes, a hat, a mobile phone, sunscreen and mozzie repellent and snacks
HOW MUCH: Registration costs $27.50 for the short course and $38.50 for the long course. Each participant is asked to fundraise a minimum of $100. WHO TO CONTACT: For more details and to register, visit www.arrowexperience.org.au
