PRIDE PLAYERS ON BUCHANAN’S RESIDENTS RADAR
WILL BUGDEN
He’s an old-school front rower and you need a good balance in your footy side. You can’t just have guys who are powerful with footwork, you need guys to put their hand up and make the tough carry and that’s probably what appeals to me about him. He always looks nice and busy defensively and he’s a big, tall, gangly looking thing who’s sometimes awkward to tackle and finds his front well, so he’s got some good qualities.
JAKE CLIFFORD
Obviously he’s a player of the future. I just at the moment feel there’s a couple of clubs in the competition with a fair bit more experience and they’re probably a bit more consistent with their footy. I went to Redcliffe a few weeks ago and watched him play and I’ve got no doubt he’s going to be an outstanding young footballer, but at the moment there’s other blokes who are more experienced who will get the job done.
MURRAY TAULAGI
There’s just something about him, mate. He’s a good finisher, I like his kick returns. He caught my eye early in the year and I followed him a bit and he’s probably got a few ahead of him who have played NRL, but you never know.
DAVID MURPHY
I’ve noticed his numbers and he was spoken about last year. But I go back to the depth in the comp in that position. Francis Molo, who got an NRL start, he’s been exceptional. Nat Neale has been going really well at Ipswich and Sam Anderson, who was there last year, is playing well at Redcliffe.
