KAP can boot Brisbane

The Weekend Post - - Views -

SOME people argue a new state in the north can never happen, that Brisbane will never let go of its cash-cow — but they’re wrong.

There is a path to freedom for Northern Queensland via the Australian Constitution and an old High Court decision.

Of course, Liberal, Labor and the Greens would all campaign against it so we need a minor party to capture just seven seats north from Bundaberg.

Those seven MPs could then block supply until the Brisbane government agreed to a referendum.

The old High Court decision means that only the people living in the new northern state would get to vote.

Katter’s Australian Party has stepped up to this challenge.

Love them or loathe them, KAP are the only politicians willing to help us get Brisbane’s boot off our throats.

The only way things will improve in northern Queensland is if we boot Brisbane by voting KAP. Peter Campion, Tolga
