I’ve lived in Cairns for 23 years, so basically my whole life. I was born here. I left for three years to live in Melbourne, but I’d come back twice a year, but now I’m back again. I’m moving back to Melbourne later this year. I moved back to Cairns to be closer to my family and to enjoy the slow pace of life here. I’m going back to Melbourne because I feel Cairns doesn’t offer enough diversity with things to do. I’d like to see some more live music in Cairns, more exhibitions and interactive art spaces. We have some of that here, but not a lot. We need more entertainment here, and spaces that aren’t just for people who are into hiking and the outdoors. We also need more food options that are open past 9pm.
