STENCIL SOLUTION FOR ALL THIS POLLUTION
BE a part of the Drain Stencil Project and put your artistic skills to the test for a good cause stencilling artwork on drains at Babinda. Through the project, the Cairns and Far North Environment Centre’s marine response team is spreading the word that any waste that enters our stormwater drain system flows out to the Reef untreated. The project aims to engage the community by running creative stencilling sessions where colourful messages such as “This drains to the Great Barrier Reef” are sprayed on to drains alongside Reef animals. Everyone is welcomed to register for the event, involving ground spray painting and a free morning tea. The last drain stencilling workshop will take place this Saturday, June 23, 10am to 12pm at Babinda Library on Munro Street.
