AFL PLAYERS GO TROPPO IN FNQ
THE Far North of Queensland has become a popular spot for AFL footballers to holiday in the mid-season bye period. With the AFL running a number of bye rounds over the past few weeks, places like Port Douglas and Palm Cove have seen a steady stream of elite footballers looking for a quick holiday of late, as well as a quiet beer and even a sing song. RICHMOND small forward Daniel Rioli (pictured top right) was in Palm Cove this week with his cheese and kisses, the daughter of former Carlton spearhead Brendan Fevola, Mia. HAWTHORN ball magnet and Brownlow Medal contender Tom Mitchell was in Port Douglas earlier this month also, our spies tell us. GWS small forward Toby Greene was also in the Far North when the Giants had a break and was given some handy hints for locations to visit by a Centrals Trinity Beach veteran. A FEW Geelong footballers were in Port Douglas this week with Joel Selwood (pictured main) using the Crocs’ home deck to keep fit on Thursday. Fellow Cat Mark Blicavs was the karaoke king at a Port bar earlier this week also, we are told.
