OK, first things first — two games down, what are your thoughts on the Socceroos’ World Cup campaign?

AI believe we can qualify (for the second round), I said that from the start. I think we can get second place. Each game we are progressing well and I think we can beat Peru and I think the stars will align in the other match (France v Denmark).

Q AFrom the two games played, which Socceroos have impressed you thus far?

Mathew Leckie has been an absolute soldier, (Aaron) Mooy has been our most creative player, and (Tom) Rogic really came into his element against Denmark. I would love to see Daniel Arzani have more time, like probably everyone does, and I thought Tim (Cahill) would have come off the bench in those last games, but coach Bert van Marwijk (above) decided to go with Tomi (Juric) instead. Every coach has a plan … I am sure he has his eye on that final game against Peru and I am sure Arzani and Cahill will have more of a role in that game.
