LIFE OUT OF FOOTBALL

-

Q You’ve got some brains away from football too. Tell us a little bit about that.

A I finished a degree in Human Movements and before that I did three of four years of PE teaching and then I transferred over. I finished that degree and got a distinction, which means if I want to study again I can do a Masters or a graduate Diploma or something like that. I’ve done my C and B license in coaching. The Gold Coast Knights and Gold Coast United have both contacted me about the future and I guess they’re waiting on me to decide what I’m doing playingwise. But I’ll definitely be active in the football environment and build my mentoring business on the side. I want to take it into schools and clubs and federations and the corporate world as well because the businesses relate to the leadership models that I’ve been through within the leadership models within the clubs.

Q Surely Brisbane Roar coach John Aloisi knows you’re without a club at the moment?

A I’ve spoken to John. At the moment they’re not looking for a centre back but he knows I’m back here living on the Gold Coast. But even logistically it could be difficult as well. I don’t want to be stuck on the M1 all day, every day. At the moment he’s not looking for a centre back but he said that can change, it’s a long pre-season and he’s aware I’m back. So playing wise I really haven’t sorted anything yet.
