The Cairns-based club officially release their 2018 indigenous jersey, designed by Bynoe, in the lead-up to today’s match.

This year’s design was illustrated by the talented 16-yearold Bynoe from Djarragun College.

Over the past few years the Northern Pride has drawn on the talents of local indigenous artist Briana Enoch.

However, this year the club decided they would do something different and open the opportunity up to the wider community.

CEO Greg Dowling, coach Ty Williams and captain Ryan Ghietti presented Bynoe with a signed indigenous jersey and Northern Pride prize pack last week. The presentation was held together with the Djarra- gun College Open Day, where the school launched their new school song and for the first time invited parents and carers of the students to the school to view the students’ work and celebrate their achievements.

Earlier this week, Dowling lamented that the Pride won’t play a curtain raiser to the Rabbitohs-Cowboys NRL clash at Barlow Park this weekend, with the club competing away from Cairns until August 4.
