These holidays ... it’s time to heed the call of wild

-

ALICIA NALLY NICHOLAS is the only one in the Gobus family to really appreciate what the next two weeks mean – apart from his parents, that is.

The six-year-old is looking forward to a family camping trip at Woodleigh Station and doing some fishing and bike riding. Dad Jason said the school holidays were the perfect time to reconnect and relax for Nicholas and his siblings, Elliott, 4, and Franklin, 18 months.

“We’re planning to just get away for a few days, get out in the colder weather, do a bit of fishing,” he said.

“When we get back to Cairns, we will probably go to the movies and go to parks and have a bit of fun.

“Nicholas is excited about holidays, he is looking forward to friends coming over.

“He lives for camping and fishing. We have got a boat at home, and he is super-excited to bring a bike and ride around.

“Sleeping in the tent is also pretty exciting for him,” he said.

From Monday, the Cairns Post has plenty of information on school holiday events and activities. Keep a look out in next week’s paper and at www.cairnspost. com.au for some great discounts on kids holiday activities around the Far North.
