Unfortunat­ely for Junk Weavers, Coles – which will fully phase out single-use bags by Sunday – will not hand over its leftover bags.

“Leftover bags will be recycled or returned to our suppliers,” a Coles spokesman said.

Big W and Woolworths will offer free re-usable bags until July 8 as shoppers adjust.
