A master’s degree, especially an MBA, would be a logical next step in training for an operations manager. However, qualified employees within a company may be promoted to become operations managers. They may be required to mentor and coach staff within their company which would also expand skills into a training and education realm. Monitoring and managing operational costs would also require extra education.
