THE Cairns Deadly Run­ners are part­ner­ing with the in­dige­nous Marathon Foun­da­tion for the 2018 Cairns NAIDOC Deadly Fun Run. IMF is a health pro­mo­tion char­ity that uses run­ning to cel­e­brate in­dige­nous re­silience and achieve­ment and cre­ates in­spi­ra­tional in­dige­nous lead­ers. The Cairns NAIDOC Deadly Fun Run and Walk is a com­mu­nity event, pro­mot­ing healthy ac­tive lifestyles to the com­mu­nity liv­ing in the Cairns re­gion, while also cel­e­brat­ing the his­tory, cul­ture and achieve­ments of Aboriginal and Tor­res Strait Is­lan­der peo­ples. Run­ning is ac­ces­si­ble to any age, abil­ity and lo­ca­tion and has the tremen­dous power to in­stil a sense of per­sonal ac­com­plish­ment when one has pushed be­yond what they thought pos­si­ble. Get your run­ning shoes on and come down and par­tic­i­pate in this awe­some event. The NAIDOC Fun Run will start at 8am on July 7 at the Cairns Es­planade Fun Ship on the north­ern Es­planade with on the day regis­tra­tions and race bib col­lec­tion from 7am.
