ALMOST MOVED TO AFL

You’re synonymous with the Rabbitohs now but you could have ended up playing AFL or even rugby union at one stage after you left the Storm. How serious were you about making the switch?

AWhen the Melbourne Storm saga happened, I loved living in that part of the world so much I wanted to stay down there. A few phone calls were made and Essendon (Bombers) were interested. I was that close to jumping over to AFL but my heart’s always going to be in rugby league. I love watching AFL. It’s incredible what they put their bodies through . I’m pretty good mates with Buddy Franklin, pictured, and we text each other fairly often.
