WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS

-

G’day Ty. We’ll get the bad stuff out of the way first, mate. How do you look back on the (32-nil) finals loss to Easts Tigers? Was it hard for the playing group to take after such a strong season?

AEasts put the gas down straight away and we were left behind. I think the experience we gained out of that 80-minute performance will only make us better. We know we need to be that good each week from here on.

There were some bright patches for the club. How does this season set you up for next year? It feels like work started straight away on your 2019 campaign?

AI’m excited about what the future holds. When I first took over it was up in the air with where we were heading. We hadn’t played semis for a while. There was a teething process the first year. This year our young fellas have really come along, both at ISC and Under 20s level. It’s an exciting time for us as a club. I can feel that we’re creating something special and it’s all player-driven. Getting knocked out in the first week of finals is not ideal but a really good learning experience. I think it’s only going to make us a better team and club.
