GI targets try milestone in tonight’s NRL semi-final

HE’S on the verge of notching his 150th try – possibly tonight – before setting sail to become just the second player in 110 years of Australian rugby league to smash through the 200-try barrier.

Greg Inglis has scored 149 first-grade tries and could well set the milestone against St George Illawarra in tonight’s sudden-death semi-final at ANZ Stadium.

Inglis, 31, is under contact for another two years but has said he would consider playing on in 2021 and maybe even 2022.

Averaging nearly 11 tries a season since making his debut in 2005 – not forgetting he missed all of last season with an ACL injury – Inglis would go close to passing 200 tries on those results should he continue playing for four more seasons. CONTINUED PAGE 57
