Trees must go

UP­GRADE works on Mary Street, Ma­landa are due to start on Septem­ber 24. This will in­volve the re­moval of cam­phor laurel trees on the street, which Table­lands Re­gional Coun­cil have ar­gued are near­ing the end of their nat­u­ral life and have the po­ten­tial to dam­age peo­ple and prop­erty. The trees will be re­placed with Aus­tralian na­tive hand­ker­chief Trees. The coun­cil is hold­ing a com­mu­nity in­for­ma­tion ses­sion re­gard­ing the works at 6— 7.30pm, Septem­ber 18 in the sup­per room of the Pa­trick English Pav­il­ion.
