Trees must go
UPGRADE works on Mary Street, Malanda are due to start on September 24. This will involve the removal of camphor laurel trees on the street, which Tablelands Regional Council have argued are nearing the end of their natural life and have the potential to damage people and property. The trees will be replaced with Australian native handkerchief Trees. The council is holding a community information session regarding the works at 6— 7.30pm, September 18 in the supper room of the Patrick English Pavilion.
